Доклад Микелы Суммы “Epistemic Injustice and the Ambivalence of Social Imagination”

Starting from ambiguities in references to imagination and the imaginary within the debate on epistemic injustice, this article argues that these ambiguities stem from a deeper ambivalence in the phenomena of the social imaginary and social imagination. It disentangles that ambivalence by showing how elements of preservation and transformation are entailed in the imaginary and in the power of imagination. Finally, it develops two necessary—though not sufficient—conditions for the actualization of imagination’s potentially emancipatory power.
