About the Centre
The Centre for Digital Humanities at HSE brings together DH projects that are being carried out at the Faculty of Humanities. The Centre attracts a wide range of participants representing different schools and has a strong interdisciplinary orientation covering philosophy, cultural studies, history, linguistics, media, and geography, among other subjects.
The goals of the Centre as a multidisciplinary unit are as follows:
- promoting new technologies in DH and their implementation in humanities projects at HSE
- developing a scientific base for Russia’s first DH innovation centre by creating a platform for researchers and students from different departments involved in DH projects for regular theoretical studies and for projects with a practical inclination, as well as by developing international collaboration for joint projects
- developing the education sector by organizing inter-departmental minors, coordinating digital literacy courses for education programmes, developing a programme for continuing education courses, and launching the first DH Master’s course in Russia in 2019
- organizing academic DH events in Russia and the CIS, including presentations, workshops, scientific schools and conferences; running open lectures and seminars to popularize knowledge about DH for wider audiences
