The essay is dedicated to philosophical and cultural dimensions of the concept pf extended cognition introduced by cognitive science and developed in media studies and cultural theory. Initially being the conceptualization of the technological, social, and material cultural "extensions" of the human body, the extended cognition protocol becomes the principle of engineering and reassembling human subjectivity. The borders of the human body acquire permeability and can be expanded with the help of technological devices and media, social practices or social institutions.
