April Theses
In April the members of the research team project presented papers at four conferences: 7th Annual Confrence for Emerging Scholars "Text – commentary – interpretation" (HSE), XXV International Scientific Conference for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students and Young Scientists “Lomonosov” (Moscow State University), XXI Open Research Conference at SPbU, and "Gasparov Readings". Arina Ranneva's paper was focused on the motive of "poor Liza" in early Russian film prose, Nadezhda Shmulevich's presentation investigated pre-war screen versions of Dostoevsky, and Anna Andreeva's conference papers discussed screen versions of "Kashtanka" by Anton Chekhov and the motive of children's reading in pre-thaw cinema. Research team project head Anna Kovalova presented a paper on the ancient motives in pre-revolutionary film prose.
