Science of Aphasia 2016

The conference was held this year in Venice, Italy, on September 26th-29th.

Lab members Yulia Akinina, Ekaterina Iskra and Olga Soloukhina attended to the annual international conference Science of Aphasia. Yulia Akinina presented two posters: “Functional Neuroanatomy of Semantic Aphasia” on the role of grey and white matter in this syndrome, and «Reorganization of cerebral functional activity in persons with aphasia following language therapy» which discussed the role of the inferior frontal gyrus in neuronal reorganization of action naming after treatment. The poster of Olga Soloukhina «Differences in verb and noun comprehension in aphasia» presented the results of the comparison between verb and noun comprehension accuracy and latency in people with aphasia and neurologically healthy participants.
