On February 8-9, 2026, First International Scientific Conference "Human Sciences and Sustainable Development" was held in Iraq. A report at the conference was presented by Prof. Felix Azhimov, Dean of the HSE University Faculty of Humanities.

The annual conference of NESEEES (North East Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies, New York, USA) was held online on April 30. Laboratory's research assistant Maria Ivanova took part in the conference and had a presentation "Smolensk province after the War of 1812 in mental geography: between symbolic glory and economic marginalization".

On 12-13 February Jan Surman participated in a conference "Polish-German History. A New Historiographical Field and its Contribution to the History of Europe", which was organised in Paris by the German Historical Institute and the Centre for Historical Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
