Alexandra Kolesnik participated in 'Modern Heavy Metal Conference: Markets, Practices and Cultures'

Junior research fellow Alexandra Kolesnik took part in ‘Modern Heavy Metal Conference: Markets, Practices and Cultures’, which was held on June 28 – July 2, 2017 at Aalto University (Helsinki, Finland). 

Junior research fellow Alexandra Kolesnik took part in ‘Modern Heavy Metal Conference: Markets, Practices and Cultures’, which was held on June 28 – July 2, 2017 at Aalto University (Helsinki, Finland). The central issues of the conference were heavy metal music and national identities. Alexandra presented a paper ‘Contesting the West: Russian Heavy Metal Online Fandom’. The conference also included meetings and interviews with representatives of record companies, promoters and music managers.
