A new article by IGITI Chief Reseach Fellow Christian Fleck on social democracy was published in the Austrian Journal of Historical Studies (Österreichische Zeitschrift für Geschichtswissenschaften). See the abstract.

Leading Research Fellow of IGITI Oksana Zaporozhets participated in a conference "Urban Activism and the Development of Civil Society in the Russian Federation", held on October 12-13 in Berlin.

Research Fellow of IGITI Natalia Nikiforova participated in the international workshop “Philosophy and Technology in Pre- and Post-Revolutionary Petersburg (1866-1932)”, held by the Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University and Technische Universität Darmstadt (Germany) in Saint-Petersburg (26 – 29 September 2018). 

Article "Science and Terminology in-between Empires: Ukrainian Science in a Search for its Language in the nineteenth century", written by IGITI Research Fellow Jan Surman, is available online in the History of Science journal.

Article "University scandals and the public sphere of Imperial Austria: the Wahrmund and Zimmermann affairs", written by IGITI Research Fellow Jan Surman, is available online in the European Review of History: Revue européenne d'histoire.

Researchers of the International Laboratory for the Study of Russian and European Intellectual Dialogue took part in the First Congress of the Russian Society for the History and Philosophy of Science of the Russian Academy of Sciences

Senior Research Fellow of IGITI Alexander Rusanov took part in the international conference "Exams, degrees and diplomas: Evaluating abilities in univerities from the 12 century to today" (Examens, grades et diplômes – La validation des compétences par les universités du xiie siècle à nos jours).

Vladislav Staf participated in the 5th annual conference of International Federation for Public History (IFPH), which took place on August 21-24 in the School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities of the University of Sao Paulo (EACH — USP), Sao Paulo, Brazil. Vladislav presented a paper "Gulag history in camp museums of the region of Perm: some narratives of human rights defenders and prison guards" in the "Difficult Heritage" session.

On July 17 IGITI Chief Research Fellow Christian Fleck presented in a session "History of Empirical Methods in Sociology". The session was a part of XIX International Sociological Association World Congress of Sociology – Power, Violence and Justice: Reflections, Responses and Responsibilities.

On June 21-22 international conference "Soviet States and Beyond: Political Epistemologies of/and Marxism 1917-1945-1968" was held at IGITI. The conference was focused on the political epistemology of intellectuals, primarily scholars working in the field of humanities and sciences, as well as artists and writers.
