On November 8, 2018, Paul Josephson, Colby College's Russian and Soviet history professor, delivered a lecture "'New materialism', history, history of technology and environmental history" at the Centre for the History of Ideas and Sociology of Knowledge at IGITI. Research Fellow of IGITI Natalia Nikiforova participated in the international workshop “Philosophy and Technology in Pre- and Post-Revolutionary Petersburg (1866-1932)”, held by the Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University and Technische Universität Darmstadt (Germany) in Saint-Petersburg (26 – 29 September 2018).

Vladislav Staf participated in the 5th annual conference of International Federation for Public History (IFPH), which took place on August 21-24 in the School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities of the University of Sao Paulo (EACH — USP), Sao Paulo, Brazil. Vladislav presented a paper "Gulag history in camp museums of the region of Perm: some narratives of human rights defenders and prison guards" in the "Difficult Heritage" session.
